Cracked, slipped or missing roof tiles

From a safe ground-level viewpoint, note tiles that look broken, cracked, slipped, missing, displaced or different in colour from nearby tiles. Describe the approximate position: near a ridge line, valley, chimney, roof edge or visible penetration. If the change followed a storm or wind, record when it was first noticed rather than walking on the roof to inspect it closely.

Visible tile damage can sit alongside weathering, movement, roof interface wear or conditions that are not clear from the ground. We check beneath and around the affected tiles where safely accessible, identify connected damage and explain the repair work.

Replace damaged tiles and check the adjoining roof

We inspect the damaged terracotta or concrete tiles, surrounding tile rows, valleys and ridge connections on site. We check tile profile, finish and available replacement materials, then explain the repair options for the existing roof.

We identify the tiles requiring replacement and any adjoining ridge, valley or flashing repairs. The quote explains the affected area and available tile match; older colours and weathering can differ from replacement material.

Cleaning a tiled roof and repairing damaged tiles are different jobs

If the roof also has moss, lichen or surface build-up, identify that as a separate goal. Cleaning does not replace an assessment of cracked tiles or loose ridge details. We discuss any repairs needed alongside the suitable cleaning approach, with the roof areas and materials shown in the quote.

Replacement tile availability and safe access

Roof height, safe access, tile availability, material condition and weathering shape the assessment. We review the surrounding roof area, then explain the suitable repair approach, available material options and relevant costs before work is arranged.

Before arranging a visit, we explain any inspection or booking fee that applies. Repair pricing is confirmed after assessment and before work begins.

Working hours and urgent enquiries

Normal working hours: 9:00 am–9:00 pm, seven days a week. Outside these hours, an additional urgent-service fee applies. The fee is determined in the on-site quote. We confirm appointment timing and safe access separately.

Details for an assessment and quote

  • Your suburb and whether the visible tile damage is in one area or several.
  • The tile material or profile if known, and whether spare tiles or earlier repair records are available.
  • Any indoor water signs, the number of storeys and property access arrangements.

Photos are optional. A written description or an indoor or ground-level photo is enough to start the enquiry.

Individual roof tile replacement questions

Will a replacement tile look exactly the same as an older roof tile?

Existing tile colour and finish can vary with age and weathering, even where a similar option is available.

Can one or two damaged tiles be replaced?

Yes, where the surrounding roof supports a local repair. We inspect the damaged tiles and adjoining area, confirm suitable replacement profiles and quote for the local work.
